Selected to be Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Rugby!

I’m delighted to have been selected by members of Rugby and Bulkington CLP to be Labour’s next parliamentary candidate for Rugby at the next general election.

Thank you to everyone involved in the selection process from the party at all levels, especially local colleagues for their hard work with the logistics.

L-R: Cllr Michael Moran, Leader of the Labour Group, Rugby Borough Council, Cllr Barbara Brown, Chair of Rugby and Bulkington CLP, John Slinger, Cllr Sarah Feeney, Secretary of Rugby and Bulkington CLP and Police and Crime Commissioner candidate, at the hustings meeting on Wednesday 15 November 2023

I want to pay tribute to my fellow candidates for the respectful and positive campaign they fought.

A big thanks everyone who helped me and gave me support.

Most importantly I want to thank local Labour Party members for their support and to say that whoever they voted for this was an open, democratic process that really matters, because as I said at the hustings meeting:

“We have a responsibility to win, a responsibility to the people of this constituency who need a Labour government. I believe in the potential of the people of this constituency.

“I’ll lead a campaign that draws on the talents of all, reaches out to the community, listens, persuades and wins again so that we can deliver positive change for the people of the constituency.

“The road to a Labour government runs through Rugby. Together we can win for Labour”.
